Collected Ephemera stems from the idea that drawing can be a way of thinking. I spent two months in Florence, Italy making marks using chalk I carried with me, directly responding to my various adventures. Some drawings are reactions to what I remember most from each experience, whether that was a strong emotion or specific quality about the location. I let my emotions and imagination change my memories by studying the interaction between what we see and how we remember it. By making ephemeral marks, I ask myself to remember each moment in a different way than I would have by just being present. Each mark is a quick thought, meant to catalogue a location and experience in my brain in a more unique and special way.
